Another budget phone offering from Nokia, is the 2626. It’s aimed at the emerging markets of India and China. Its a simplistic phone with a small feature set, although it does have an fm radio built-in. It is set for a $100 price tag (75 euros).

The growth was driven by China and India where Nokia’s strategy of releasing cheaper models has helped it secure market share. Sales to China increased 58 per cent year-on-year to 11.7m units while other Asia-Pacific sales rose 79 per cent to 18.8m. Nokia’s competitor Motorola also revealed record quarterly sales, up 29 per cent compared with the same period last year. (Source: Financial Times)
